These will make your taste buds smile. I am more a fan of Oreos than of brownies to tell the truth but put them together and you’ve got an irresistible combination.
The Ghirardelli brand of brownie mix, which can be found at Costco, is premium – It’s “the shit”, “the bees knees”, the “cat’s meow” and all that. After trying these you will never buy the other brands again. In fact this recipe may not turn out as well with another brand.
Note: I made the high-altitude variation of the recipe mix, meaning you add extra flour and water to achieve a higher, softer brownie
High-Altitude Ghirardelli-Oreo Brownies
Ingredients
16 Oreo Cookies
1 Pouch of Ghirardelli brownie mix
1/4 cup of of all purpose flour
1/3 cup PLUS 2 additional tbsp of water
1/3 cup of oil
1 egg
Preheat your oven to 325F. Lightly grease or spray an 8×8 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. (you can spray, line with parchment and spray again to ensure they don’t stick)
Place a single layer of Oreos in the prepared pan.
Place water, oil and eggs in a medium bowl and stir until fully mixed.
Add brownie mix + flour Stir together until ingredients are combined – well blended without over doing it.
Spread into prepared pan over the Oreos ensuring the batter is even to the edges.
Firmly tap your pan onto the counter to ensure batter gets into all the spaces between the cookies.
Bake for 45-50 min. (50 min if using a glass baking pan)
Let cool before cutting into them.
Brownie facts: Fresh baked brownies may seem undercooked while hot but they will set while cooling. So, do resist the urge to over bake.
Store in an air tight container.
The brownies will be moist – not chewy and the Oreos make them even more amazing! Definitely a staple dessert in my home 🙂
Enjoy!
